Corner lift and bowl-shaped warping are different problems wearing the same name

"Warping" covers at least two visually distinct failure patterns that have different dominant causes. Corners lifting off the bed near the very start of a print usually traces back to adhesion or a draft hitting the first layer before it has fully bonded. A part that warps into a bowl shape later in the print, after several layers have gone down, more often traces back to a thermal gradient between the outer edges and the interior, or a large flat footprint concentrating shrinkage stress as it cools. This tool separates those two onset patterns from the start.

How the triage works

Onset (first layer only, versus appearing later) sets the initial weighting toward adhesion and draft, or toward thermal gradient and footprint, respectively. A warp-prone material (ABS/ASA, Nylon) raises both thermal-gradient and shrinkage hypotheses regardless of onset, since these materials are more sensitive to both. A drafty environment and a recent bed or nozzle change both add weight to their directly related hypotheses.

Worked example

Corner lift on the first layer only, ABS/ASA, in a drafty area, no recent hardware change: the tool ranks draft and bed adhesion as the top hypotheses (both elevated by the first-layer onset and the reported drafty environment), with thermal gradient and shrinkage tendency noted as relevant to this material generally but not the top priority given the specific first-layer-only symptom.

A common mistake

A frequent error is fixing a warping problem with a brim or adhesive while ignoring a genuine thermal-gradient cause that will keep showing up on other parts. A brim can mask corner lifting on this specific print without addressing why the material is warping in the first place; if warping recurs across different geometries, revisit the thermal and material hypotheses, not just adhesion.

Limitations

This tool ranks plausible causes from the symptoms you described. It cannot see your printer or measure real temperatures, so treat the ranked list as a place to start testing, not a confirmed root cause.
